Welcome to Hope for Beslan We are a group of volunteers, based in Canada, who decided to help families affected by the Beslan tragedy. We realized that Sept 11th and Sept 1st were days that mankind should never forget, since these days mark a significant change in humanity. On September 11th, 2001 we all realized, that any civilian on this planet could become a target or victim of a terrorist attack, no matter of their race, religion or political views. On September 1st, 2004 we all learned that terrorism could also target children, toddlers and even babies. It is not about politics, it is about power. It does not matter where the attack happened: in the large and prosperous city of New York, or in the small and previously unknown town of Beslan. The pain, loss and suffering are devastating. For whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee. But there is Hope. This Hope is You. This Hope is Us. This HOPE is us, when we say “No” to terrorism, by helping and remembering its victims. When torturing the hostages in Beslan School #1, the terrorists repeatedly told them that no one needed them, that the terrorists could do what they wanted without fear of reprisal, and that no one cared what happened to them. We are showing them that they were and are wrong and that many people do care. Together we can say: We all care. These children are our children. These families are ours. We will help them, we will support them, we will remember all of them – those who perished, and those who survived. The terrorists wanted to take away their future. We will take care of their future. We offer you a unique opportunity to say “No” to terrorism, by helping the children ans families of Beslan. You can become a sponsor and a friend to a family of victims, an orphan, or a child in need. Our group of volunteers considers that its main duty and purpose is to become a reliable source of information to people in Canada and all over the world, who want to help the victims of terrorism: “Heart to heart, hand to hand”. By this motto, we will assist you so that you can directly help the family you sponsor - without intermediaries or agencies. You can make an immediate difference by touching the lives of people through direct sponsorship, whose life has been turned upside down and whose pain is unbearable. The first few days following the Beslan tragedy brought our planet together. However, very soon the news became history. Please do not stop showing your solidarity and compassion for these victims. Please continue to bring Hope to these people. It is not only Hope for Beslan – it is Hope for all of us. |
